For the good of the program, let us TRULY hope....

Let us TRULY hope that the administration will conduct a national search and be willing to pay what is costs to get a GOOD, EXPERIENCED coach. It has been proven time and time again, that one doesn't HAVE to have been a great player to be a great coach. John Wooden never really played the game, nor did Steve McDowell--and YES, I put them in the same sentence intentionally. Both men were GREAT coaches and program builders.

The coaching landscape is littered with great athletes who were either NOT ready to become coaches or were not capable of BEING a coach. Mentioning names is not necessary.

Conversely, the world is full of great, former players who became great coaches. Phil Jackson and Kim Mulkey certainly come to mind.

Our university and the ladies who wear our university's uniform deserve a reasoned, methodical and quick decision. And, yes, you can make a reasoned, methodical and quick decision.

Lots of us have ideas as to who we'd like it to be. Probably few had heard of Michael White before "someone" found him. Let us hope that whoever our someone is THIS time will find the right fit for our program. The tradition is important to Louisiana Tech.

    The future is bright!
