    3-2 Versus Power 6

So in the last 2 seasons we are 3-2 versus the Power 6 conferences with all games being road games. Have we ever had a run so impressive before? Road wins in basketball are difficult even against subpar competition, much less solid programs.

    2012-2013
loss at Texas A&M (18-15; 11th in SEC)
win at Florida State (18-16; 6th in ACC)

    2013-2014
loss at Oklahoma State 14-3 at home (21-13; 8th in Big 12, played us with full complement of players before injuries)
win at Oklahoma 15-3 at home (23-10; 2nd in Big 12)
win at Georgia 14-3 at home (20-13; tie for 2nd in SEC)

I know we have won games vs. the so-called Big conferences before. During TJE's tenure we won a tourney by beating Oregon and Oregon State, might have been all neutral court, don't remember.

Is there a site, like the Football Warehouse, that has every school's year by year results? Need to Google that, I guess.

I suspect Tommy Joe's teams did it, but that would have to be the last time and several of those would have been at neutral sites.

I do remember the '85 team beating LOUISVILLE on their home court and that would have been comparable to the same feat today.

The games against Oregon and Oregon State were in Portland, not in Eugene or Corvallis.

I think the big boys are starting realize there are no more upset type games when a small school or "Mid-Major" plays a power school anymore.

There was a discussion on ESPN radio last night about this. Tom Izzo stated with Wichita State, Gonzaga, VCU, Butler, George Mason all making the Final Four the last few years the distinction is becoming less and less in basketball.

Of course ESPN attributed it to the fact that kids are the power schools are leaving early and 22 years old at the Mid Majors are playing against 18-19 yr olds at the power conferences.

13 scholarship limit for men has quite a bit to do with it as well...used to be 15.

That's one of the biggest problems in the women's game...limit is still 15 and drawing from a smaller talent pool than men draw from.
