It didn't take Tyler Summitt long to make a splash as the sixth head coach of the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters. During the noon-time press conference at the Jarrell Room of the Charles Wyly Athletic Center, Summitt announced that he has hired former Lady Techster Mickie DeMoss as his associate head coach.

His presser was very impressive. Loved how he talked about the former Techster years, Sonja, and Leon, and our fans. He knows where he is headed with this. Also, loved that he stalled out on other offers when he heard Louisiana Tech! He is here to rebuild us and has the knowledge, leadership, and ability to do just that.
I was blown away with his presser. It took him a minute or two to shake off the awkwardness, but then he just slipped right in to a confident state. The "kid" gets it. He WILL make our team better.
Totally agree! I knew it would be impossible to please everyone on the board, but I think almost everyone that saw the press conference was impressed.

I must say that I was skeptical but after seeing the video I'm a believer! The young man has his focus in all the right places to move this program in the right direction. I consider this about as good a hire as we could have made. He has the right formula to make drastic improvements.
