Fix the State-T decal on football helmets

In the last alumni magazine, there was an article on the evolution of our logo since Coach Lambright thought it up in 1968.

Apparently, he wanted the logo for football use only, but it was adopted by the whole university anyway.

Despite cosmetic changes to the state outline, one thing remained constant for nearly fifty (50) years... a white T with a blue state on a red helmet.

Well, that was until some morons decided to change to an invisible red T for no apparent reason last year.

Some say it was for branding "consistency." I say B.S.

It should be a tribute to Coach Lambright's original design and his desire to have a UNIQUE logo only for the football program.

    Bring back the White T!

    Thank you!

The invisible T is awful! I cringe every time I see our new helmets. Our helmets don't look nearly as awesome as they used to.

Please bring back the white T!

Keep them as is, just because it was always done that way doesn't mean it's good :icon_wink:

Funny that nobody will take credit for the decision to change them. The excuse "they" used for changing was bogus. At least give a reason for the change.

When the logo is on a red background, the T should be white. If on a white background, the T should be red.

I think the decision to make one logo is a great idea. Only thing about the red-on-red is the white outline needs to be a bit more distinct. I like the idea of the Blue and red being on any/all backgrounds. Just a little heavier white outline would do it.

Change to white helmets is a win/win! (nevermind.. then the white T wouldn't show up).

That wasn't the reason for decision. There was never an official response other than 2nd hand info from the SID. That excuse was that the white on red was not one of the acceptable color combinations. Apparently they didn't check the acceptable list before they relayed that bogus excuse.
