We usually go to the one on Veterans. We have to get at least 2 dozen (at $18/dz) because my kids will eat them all.

Morning Call between Causeway and Severn (I forget the street 17th?)

K-Pauls Louisiana Kitchen in the Quarter - one of the best restaurants in N.O. IMO.

For "fast food" I like New orleans Hamburger and Seafood Co. decent po-boys, they have 5 or 6 locations around town.

And I just remembered a joke that isn't really a joke because it's a true statement.
No matter where people from New Orleans go on vaction they are always disappointed in the food.

I haven't had many opportunities to dine out in New Orleans. Below are the ones that I did like:

Po Boys - Parkway Bakery and Tavern
    Burgers - Port of Call
    Breakfast - Surrey's Cafe

Have the Central Grocery Mufflatas gone down hill? I always liked to buy one early and put it in the sun behind the rear car seat and then eat it later.

Nope - still some of the best! Plus, I always stock up on hard to find items while there.

Thanks. I haven't been to NO for about thirty years. I was also wondering about Tchoupitoulas(?) on the river road right where turns off 90 toward Luling.

One of my favorite food experiences is at Dragos in Metairie (which for whatever reason is better than the Dragos in the Hilton on the river). Once the platter of chargrilled oysters has been consumed, I like to take their fresh french bread and sop it in the char and garlic butter sauce that's dripped to the bottom of the platter.

I don't know about today, but a couple of years ago they got their french bread fresh daily from Parkway Bakery. It just doesn't get any better than that.
