Could the flagship lose its petroleum engineering accreditation?

Probably just scare tactics to squeeze more money from the state, but it would be the perfect opportunity to revive the program at Tech.

LSU's King Alexander: "We're dangerously close to losing our accreditation in petroleum engineering." LSU needs more faculty. #lalege

Do we have enough money to revive it? Plus would also have to get approval from the state.

We are losing professors ourselves. Seven years now without a raise.
It's time to close the doors to the Temple of Janus.

Not just a Louisiana (Jindal) problem either. There are people who aren't willing to take a cut however. We keep electing them.

Meh, who cares, PetEng is a pigeon hole engineering field, a good ChemE or MechE can fill the same job position (and often do).

But is that the perception among the old guard? Just asking, I don't have a clue, haha.

Re: Could the flagship lose its petroleum engineering accreditation?

Too many students enrolled in the program. That said, tech really does not need a weak lsu. We need lsu to do their thing and we need to take care of our business and try to improve every day.

We don't need lsu taking funding from UL schools to prop up their budget. If only we had Tech, UNO, LSU and UL-l...

.....again we need to be cool and let lsu go after sela and sela for money.

Don't get into a fight with the baddest boy on the block .......improve areas you are good at and expand westward... Texas is our future, not Louisiana.

Texas is were the money, students, population and growth are....and it is a 45 minute jet ride or 4 hour car ride to what should be our target market.
