I hear Grace Christian has a solid coach (Brown) that has put about half of dozen kids on college rosters. The same cannot be said for the high school (Montgomery) from which Jacob Harrison transferred.

Loftonbranch, you are correct. Grace does have a good program for a small school and Brown helps get kids that can continue to play the opportunities to do so. The same can not be said for all the high schools in our area. Brown also is over the summer high school league for central Louisiana.

A big congrats goes out to Hunter Mitchell. He has just signed with Louisiana Tech U. Huntbo was our 13th D1 signee. #specialteam

from a friend: La. Tech gains the services of Clint Cage on the baseball diamond this summer. He played for the wood bat team that I did stats/PA for this summer. You're going to like him - good ball player. .357 average with .536 slugging; 17 RBI; 7 2B and 1 HR in 20 starts. drew 24 walks with just 6 Ks.

It is sooooo refreshing to have a head baseball coach with such DRIVE and AMBITION! Goff is clearly a workaholic and will have high expectations of his players.

Implying Simoneaux didn't have drive and ambition is humorous and inaccurate.

All I know is there is a college prep team from south Louisiana that has helped multiple players earn scholarship to every university in Louisiana since 2008, but Tech. Read into it what you want.

Re: Greg Goff on the recruiting trail

Coach Goff came and spoke to our local Lions Club yesterday. He comes here having experienced success at Campbell and believes he can have success here. He is very energetic, and he really connected well with the people at our club meeting. One thing that struck me is how he seems completely at home here. He talks like a local and acts like a local. If you were meeting him and had no idea of who he is you would not think up front that he just moved here. I am not attempting to say that will be a great recruiting benefit or anything. I was just surprised at how much like a north Louisiana/north Mississippi/south Arkansas kind of guy he appears to be.
