A San Francisco 49ers "training camp profile" on former Louisiana Tech wide-receiver Quinton Patton by Tyler McMullen posted yesterday (7-4-2014) afternoon says that among "one of the league’s deepest receiver pools...none is more intriguing than second-year receiver Quinton Patton."
He calls Patton a "classic fit as a slot receiver" for the 49ers offense" who "offers a ton as a 'hands catcher,'" and cites a "feisty attitude that resembles his head coach’s a bit."
However Patton "struggled" to adjust to NFL style of football as well as "putting his game together" last year as a rookie, McMullen states, struggling to beat "press coverage in practices" and "showed questionable attitude, drive, desire, and concentration."
The writer concludes that "Patton should steal the No. 5 receiver spot, but...."
