That's great- Leon does deserve something named after him on campus. Glad she put her money where here mouth is- most don't.

Glad she is is donating and and we DEFINITELY need something named after Leon. My God, he is one of the most winning coaches in the history of the game - men or women. KM did her best to make it public and, somewhat shaming to the university. She could have easily gone to to Les and donated it stating that we need something.
And, no, a locker room is not good enough.
A locker room is not public enough.
maybe both or a display with all his awards etc
r an entire wing tribute to his legacy and the program
I was thinking of a walk in type hall of fame deal with all the program history in one place...like they have at ucla, baylor etc in the locker room or hallway area for recuirts...baylor has one connected to locker room...now the best thing would be their on practice facility
Everyone agrees that Leon should have something named after him at Tech. But is it time to do that? When do we ever name something for somebody while they are alive? Joe Aillet Stadium? Named after his death. Thomas Assembly Center? After death. Lambright? After death. F. Jay Taylor? After death.
To me it just seems like Mulkey is trying to act like she knows best about Tech. But she's saying something that everyone agrees about. She still seems bitter.
I'm happy that she's willing to donate money for it though. Maybe Tech and her and reconnecting again.
Just need to figure out the amount of funds they want to raise and just how they can get the project decided on done
or should itbe be vise, versa!
I don't know about any of that; I don't know the woman personally in order to make statements about her bitterness or drama. I would be hesitant to read anything ulterior into her generosity/benevolence. Just take it at face value -- a gift donated to start a memorial.
In addition to a public component, place a bronze bust of Leon with his signature scowl outside the visitors' locker room.
