Completely agreed. Probably has to do with the fact he played OL and not a "skill position" where accomplishments are easier to measure and compare on a quantitative scale. Offensive linemen never get the notariety of a QB, WR, RB for that reason I think.

While I think most would agree with you, Kevin Mawae should at least be in that conversation. His career was almost as decorated as Roaf's, he had more longevity and played at a high level for a long time. I'll be interested to see how his Hall of Fame candidacy is treated, and if he's discredited because he played center and not left tackle. Mawae is certainly one of the greatest centers of the past couple of decades.
