Not really -- I'm not criticizing Ms. Jenkins in any way. I'm happy for her; I've seen her appearances on Fox News on occasion, and she represents herself (and by extension our university) very well, and I have no doubt she will continue to do so. I don't blame her for taking the job, either -- I would likely do the same .

I merely thought it unusual that the producers of a reality television show would use a person who had never been a judge as such on TV...nothing more.

For the tv shows, the parties involved sign a contract beforehand agreeing to binding arbitration. Most are really retired judges etc, but honestly you could do it without ever passing the bar.
