I have to continue to hit the refresh button....not great streaming...
Well at least I'm not missing a good feed.
So now I have a great pic......and no sound!
Screen has gone black again....I give up!
Looks like a smaller turnout vs other years. Also, lack of decor. They need to go back to the more formal event.

This is what it looked like in 2009.
I think the whole event has lost it's luster...
there were many more people in chairs aligned on the back wall and standing at high tables than this pic shows. I think it was better attended than last year. Also, the centerpieces were flowers in clear vases with blue lights in the water. The best part is that they were short enough for us to see over them...a problem in the past.
Guess I missed the announcements for this year's Happening. Didn't know it was going on. Might have made the drive if I had.
Highlights of the presentations, anyone?? Anything remarkable?
Only thing I heard was a small group that said the informal setting is much more enjoyable. Was not able to attend this year, so no first hand knowledge.
First off, Marco is an athletic marketing hire. Not alumni house. This event is put on by the Alumni/Advancement folks. Marco has enough to do in athletics.
Let's see, I received a mail piece announcing Happening back in July.
I've saw stories in two newspapers.
It was even in BB&B in July: http://www.latechbbb.com/forum/showt...ight=Happening
IMHO: More PA speakers were added (we could understand Teddy a little better). Need to use better video cameras . . . or put their tripods much closer to the podium for a better IMAG experience for attendees.
And, yes, the flowers were just the height. They eliminated those overdone arrangement a few years back. Why? Cuz of their height.
I hope this answers some comments appropriately . . . . IMHO
Crowd maybe short some from previous years. Being on a Friday night some had scrimmages/jamborees to attend). I'm sure they'll analyze that this year.
PS-No shortage of politicians, as filing just ended Friday afternoon.

I just missed the announcements. The Happening is a good event that I've attended in the past and might have made this year. But we really enjoy Tech & Tails every year and I start looking for the announcements for it when April rolls around.
Anyone who hasn't been to either ought to make a point of attending one or both of them next year. Seriously, if Tech is your school its time and money well spent.
