At this point in Dykes career he was 5-8 and people were talking about getting rid of him. He then lost 3 of the next 4 with the sole win being a close game with Central Arkansas. I'm still holding out hope that Holtz will turn the corner this weekend.
Hell, I thought we looked like a halfway organized football TEAM in the loss to OU. I think they will blow several Big12 foes out of the building worse than us this year. What did y'all expect? Sokol settled in, despite terrifying pressure. They went for it on fourth down several times. We made some plays and have something to build on this week. Sure, we were drubbed, but it wasn't like Penn State back in the day. Apart from the one season of excellent offense (and sucky defense), there's not a team in Tech history that would've fared much better. Am I wrong?
Have you considered those Dogs?
Looking back, it appears that our Dawgs settled in and played pretty well (considering who the opposition was) starting midway through the 2nd quarter. Unfortunately, the inability for Holtz to get his team ready to play well from the initial kickoff is reminiscent of last years woes. He's gotta fix that. We need 4 solid quarters of work out of our team, not just two.
