Glad to see Conner Smith making some blocks out there. #1 is very gifted, but needs to understand how important blocking is.
The line opened with us being favored by 3. Wynn in Vegas now has us at 5.5. I expected it to be 10ish. Vegas knows our offense.

I'm worried about this game. Our secondary needs to step up their game in this one.
Diaz will earn his $1 if he can contain WKU's passing game.
We've got to get better on 3rd down. We give up too many 3rd and longs. If it's 3rd down and 10, our DB's have got to be looking for the 10-yrd pass play to the sticks, and not the 30-yard post.
• WKU received recognition from the College Football Performance Awards. Quarterback Brandon Doughty was named the CFPA National Player and Quarterback of the Week. The senior was 23 of 26 for 371 yards and five touchdowns and no interceptions against Old Dominion.
• Freshman Kylen Towner, who had a 94-yard TD return, was named the National Kick Returner of the Week and Gardner was selected as a CFPA Honorable Mention National Defensive Back of the Week.
So, WKU has a kick returner who ran one back 94 yards for a TD last week.

Yes. He was the Alabama Class 5A 100 meter State Champion. If he gets a tiny crease nobody will catch him. The ODU players looked like they were running in mud trying to catch him.
I agree that this is going to be a tough game - mainly because this is a MUCH different offense than we are used to playing this year. They put up points! Our strength is our defense and we have to wreak havoc on their offense, because I don't think we can get into a shoot-out with them. There is a reason that they lost to MTSU, UAB, and FAU. Those teams simply outscored them. No one has really shut down their offense. They remind me of our team under Dykes, except they haven't won as many due to an even worse defense than what we had (in my opinion).
I don't think they have scored under 36 points in any game this year and are in the upper 40's average. They scored 66 against ODU, but ODU managed 51 points. On the flip side, other teams are scoring in the 30's and 40's against them. They won't be able to stop Dixon, so time of possession and a running game are key. If our defense can slow down their offense enough for us to stay on the field with our running game, that is going to be key. Quick scoring from time to time is good, but that just puts their offense back on the field. We need long scoring drives that take a LOT of time off the clock.
I wish their UTEP game was before their game with us, instead of right after. I would love to have seen what a common opponent can do - one that we handled extremely well.

Dixon cutting loose for 6 to 7 yards a play (I don't want to run him to death and we have to mix some passing in, but he needs to be TOTALLY on his game - I don't see them being able to stop him like Southern Miss did against our run game).

2. If our offensive line get man handled like they did against USM our rushing yards will not make a difference in this game.
3. Our defence will probably be soley responsible for the Win.

That seems to be our weakness being unaccounted for guys down the field in the passing game. That is one of WKU's strengths which on the face of it presents a bad matchup for us. We can counter that with good pressure and disruptions, batted down balls and what not. Pics.
And where, excactly, is this Margaritaville?
Anybody heard any radio/TV commercials highlighting the exciting brand of football the WKU plays?
