Some thoughts on the game...

Davenport - reminds me a lot of Frazier... Once her confidence is there, she'll be another awesome weapon on the wing.
Wingate - her length is real nice on D... looks like they are making sure her knee is taken care of. It was iced before the end of the game.
Moten - looked a little timid when I got there (was late) but she was in foul trouble at the time... down the stretch she played well.
Walter - played under control... and thus had a good night.
Frazier - loved her stat line: 10 points, seven rebounds, five assists and five steals... solid night for her.

Some growing pains as expected, but on multiple occasions I saw the ladies look to the bench for guidance after a mistake. TS was concise and calm getting his point to them... and nearly every time they responded positive on the next trip down the floor.

Anyone know the story for Shelton?

Loved seeing the energy and animation on our bench last night. Girls were cheering, encouraging, focusing, jumping up when a terammate made a three or a steal or a block, including our transfers Brooke and Ashley who'll be playing next year. Really bought into being "in the game" even while on the bench. The camaraderie and enthiusiasm reminded me of out guys team. Good to see Speedy, Heem, Hamilton and some others there supporting our ladies too.

Davenport looks like a player! Wingate was very athletic, but limped noticeably in the second half and took herself out. The trainers took her in an iced her knee. Hope she's OK. A couple of threes by Andrews, Ritchie looked good, and our sophomore Jackson really had a solid game scoring 19 off the bench; Wakler was all over the place on defense and the boards, got a double double. Turnovers and post defense are my major concerns after last night. Good to see Cheryl Fored and Jelena and Leon Barmore in the TAC too.

And thanks to Mr. Robken and the Hoop Troop for doing double duty with both football and WBB. Just a good day to be a Tech fan.

They hand them off on substitutions...it's just a simple way to avoid confusion.

There were five towels on the end of the scorers table used for substitutions. Each towel was wrapped in the middle with white tape and had one word written on the tape (character, competition, family, belief, and one more...maybe loyalty).

Yup, those are the 5 standards that he has put in place for the program to live by. The last one is toughness.

There was a tweet last night from the Lady Techster twitter account that said she would be back for the opener at SFA....so can't have been anything too bad.

Passing was light years ahead of last year. Didnt even look like the same team.

Free throws will cost us at least one game if not fixed.

Overall shooting somewhat improved but still room for growth.

All in all: DAMN ITS GOOD TO BE BACK.
