Unfortunately the law has a gap as it refers to only the use of UL, doesn't address using Louisiana or Louisiana's, which is what they're trying to do "Louisiana Ragin Cajuns", see that doesn't break the text of UL law but it does the spirit of the law. I would also add that they would have to stop using louisiana.edu, this is the most egregious of their misuse as it infers them on level with flagships like, arkansas.edu, nebraska.edu,

We have a better shot at moving to the revamped AAC or a new MWC than UL-L has at moving to a CUSA with LaTech and USM in it.

There have been a number of examples given of them using UL and University of Louisiana in a official manner. They are breaking the law, but always spin it back to what you describe above.

Their alumni are the only ones that use it. Outside of Lafayette, they will always be La-Lafayette.
