Academy in BR had a full, front-and-center, Bama display after they won the NC a couple of years ago. They fully understand how fickled the unwashed masses of bandwagon fans are. So, with both the Saints and LSU stinking it up lately, Academy figures bandwagoners will be looking for a winner to side with.

The one on Siegen has only LSU stuff. When I showed the lady the tech logos, she said that was just a picture they used.

Still, it was our brand that had equal billing with LSU, and not UL-L's or Tulane's. That is a positive thing, especially here in Baton Rouge.

So true. They got some managers who hustle with the winners of the day displays. However, the Tech merchandise (if it actually was placed in the BR stores :icon_wink in all probability was ordered weeks or even months ago for the Christmas season. If they were really serious inventory would have been introduced in August/September.

Most of Academy's Tech gear is cheap, cheap. Stuff Tech fans would never buy. Like red t-shirts with a Tech football helmet on it that reads "Techsters" above the helmet. I've noticed that quality Tech gear sells fast at Academy. Cheap stuff just sits on their racks. I've never understood why they can't get name-brand Tech gear like they do for LSU (Columbia, Titleist, Nike, etc.) The only name-brand Tech gear is just a couple Nike items. I went to Academy before the red out looking for Tech gear, and there were several other Tech fans in there doing the same. They had almost nothing. Back to your point, yes, Academy in Shreveport has slowly reduced their Tech stock over the past several years... and started replacing it with SAINTS gear! This has been a problem since the Saints Super Bowl season. More Saints wins = less Tech gear at Academy.

Went to Academy in Shreveport. Selection was minimal - did not see any youth items which is what I was looking for. Had some decent items, but not a lot of sizes.
