Bus Trip To Marshall for CUSA Championship game?

With the chances of us playing the CUSA championship game at Marshall on Dec. 6 very strong, I was wondering what it would take to put together a bus trip similar to the one that the Alumni Association did for the Southern Miss game? Ideally they could put it together again, but I do not know what the chances of them getting a trip like this together with the amount of time remaining. Obviously there are lots of details to iron out.

After looking at travel arrangements to get to Huntington, it was clear that it will be very expensive and fairly inconvenient to travel there from anywhere in north Louisiana.
I feel like there would be enough interest to put together plenty of people to fill at least one charter bus for a much more reasonable fee (Just a guess, but maybe somewhere between $100-$150). This will be a huge game for the Dawgs and having as many fans there as possible can only help us!

Just wanted to gauge interest and see how many people would consider this option if it were available? Also anyone with any personal connections to someone in the athletic department who may be able to get the ball rolling on this would be much appreciated.

. Never. Tv games are more convenient but nothing like being at game live. Especially if you make it a 1-2 day event.

Lord willing, my wife and I are driving over from Columbus. Word is that the Holiday Inn at Pullman Plaza, The Hampton Inn on Kinetic, or the Marriott on Kinetic are good options for hotels. We have some friends who live there that I went to TCU with that will don their Red and Blue for the weekend.

14-15 hours on a bus each way is a tough sell, especially when the Google is showing flights from Shreveport/Monroe to Huntington for under $400 round trip.

Get in touch with Jim Robken- I know the band has been planning for a possible C-USA championship game for a few weeks. He might be able to get you info on Charter costs.

Seems like they would have put feelers out for a charter jet for fans. I couldn't do it, but I be we have 150 or so fans who would have been interested.

DS65 is the last person on this board that would need travel advice!!! He's already got his refundable airline ticket purchased for Marshall game!

I was thinking the same -if you could get flight cost down to $300/person out of Shreveport/Monroe, it would be worth it. Lowest price I see on travelocity is $460/person - includes 1 night in hotel.

Holiday Inn-Pullman isn't that great in my opinion. Hampton and Springhill Suites on Kinetic are very new and very nice. Holiday Inn in Barboursville out by the mall is also a good option, only 20 mins from campus. The mall area has all the chain restaurants, but for a treat go to the Blackhawk Grille in Barboursville and get the paella if they have it that night. You can also go to Hillbilly Hot Dogs if you're into that sort of thing.

Also, for those planning flights, look into flying into Charleston, WV, easy drive to Huntington and more flights that Huntington- Tri-State. I used to go up there way more often that I liked for work...

    Now STAY FOCUSED!!
