I want to be very clear about something: I'm not letting the defense off the hook either. They sucked in the 2nd half too. BUT, as someone else stated, we still could have won the game today with the defense's 10-point 2nd half performance, if the offense had only done ANYTHING in the 2nd half. I don't think you realize how poorly the offesne played in the 2nd half. It may have been one of LA Tech's worst 2nd half offensive performances in history.

As I've said before, they weren't up to par today, but they played well enough to win. They came up with crucial turnovers when they were needed, then the offense would stall.... wait a minute, to stall would say they actually were moving.

I had to miss the second half, but I was keeping up with the game in the car on ESPN App. When Cody threw the last pic, the app showed that Higgins threw it. Are we sure, they didn't put Higgins in Sokol's uniform as trickery?

I agree with you. I'm not saying the offense played good in the 2nd half. I just think we should have had more possessions in the 2nd half. Not being able to get ODU off the field limited our chances on offense. It was frustrating to watch them control the ball like they did and not having a chance to get our offense on the field. I'm sure they felt the same way in the first half when we dominated TOP.

... what's worse is they gave us the ball at midfield with 3 minutes left. Just a FG... couldn't get it. We threw a pick. No doubt the offense sucked in the 2nd half. But the defense sucked worse. It wasn't effort by the defense, and it wasn't that the defense played bad.... ODU just figured us out, and out-executed us. It wasn't our players playing bad this time... we got out-coached. It wasn't that we coached poorly, we did what we have done every week... they just figured a way to beat us and out-coached us. I give them all the credit. Good coaching staff. We are usually the team that makes adjustments and pours it on in the 2nd half. This week it was reversed. I admire their staff.

It wasn't coaching, man. It was execution.

Let's say the offense did sustain that 3rd quarter drive. The TOP is still 10 minutes to 5 minutes for ODU. Do y'all even pay attention when the defense is on the field or change channels?

I didn't have the option of changing the channel. I was there, in the ODU stadium. I Got to take it all in.

Offense couldn't do anything the second half. Poor execution and poor play selection.

No, it was coaching. Their coach was VERY confident coming out at half time. He said they figured out Diaz and if they could stop our offense on 3rd down they were going to win the game. It played out just like he prophesied.

No, it was coaching. Their coach was VERY confident coming out at half time. He said they figured out Diaz and if they could stop our offense on 3rd down they were going to win the game. It played out just like he prophesied.

ODU missed a field goal too, so I consider our miss and their miss to offset one another.

I know I'm not getting through to you, but it was their offense that kept our offense in check. We only had the ball 6 minutes in the 2nd half. I understand that you think if we would have picked up a few more first downs it wouldn't have been as dramatic, and I agree... but we didn't. The crucial 3rd down plays were a delay of game on us, a pass interference that wasn't called, and an interception. We failed on our 3 possessions. More possessions would have been favorable, but we couldn't get them off the field.
