Im no expert but ill take a shot. Petey always had very good tackles. The inside guys had grit and were sound. He was very detailed and big on gametime preparation; And he was a good recruiter. He was an outstanding coach that suited our needs by being good at evaluating, able to project a players future contribution and knowing who we could get.

He could also coach a group up for any style. Right now our run game is a cluster and I don't really know why, but it seems like we are not able to block anybody at the next level inside or seal an edge.

I thought Dixon played OK yesterday. His stats look pretty good. No way he could have been tired in the 2nd half; he only touched the ball 7 times (6 runs and 1 catch). If I were coach, I would give all 6 of those carries to Dixon. I still think he's our best RB.

As long as we keep recruiting OL for their wing span instead of quickness, we'll never have a line that can run block. They're so slow all they do is get in the way. What happened to Brown at LT, Danielson played the whole game?

Then fans wonder why Dixon stays injured and fumbles so often. Football is not that difficult to understand.
    Great post. All true.

Peter recruited athletes not OL. This OL is great at pass pro but doesn't fire off on runs aND get no movement. When do we ever see a OL man on a linebacker. They are who they are. We should use there ability to pass block to open up the run but we do it azz backwards.

Pete was a great coach because he held us accountable. Even the great Willie Roaf was pulled because he wasn't prepared.

Overall this year's OL has been alright to good all year. We need to recruit more athletic in the future if we want to be a running team.

There is a kid in McKinney,TX that is getting no looks. He's durable 25-35 touches a game, can catch the ball, return kicks......Has been one of the leading rushers in the DFW area, competing in the same district as the Allen Eagles. Name is Scrivens....give him a chance. Think,Hunter Lee 2.0!
