Our AD said in his pregame interview that the NSU loss "woke us up". Come on man!
How bad would we have played today if we had beaten NSU?
Our HC said he was pleased with special teams in his pregame interview.
Sometimes admins and coaches just need to do their job and shut up.
Hell. It's only one loss but we may not win another game. Still, this season has been more successful than any chicken little wants to admit.
We have more wins than losses, but we still lost to Northwestern State (@ home) and Old Dominion. Embarrassing no matter how you look at it.
Those losses taint the season because we've beaten better teams...by a lot. ODU and NSU hurt because we should've beat both handily. You decide who should shoulder the blame for these two losses...regardless of who you blame it on, the fact is this team SHOULD be 9-2 right now.Originally Posted by Chris29

A loss to an in state FCS doesn't taint the season? Man, we need to set the bar higher.
We don't handle layoffs well...
played UNT on a Thurs, had 9 days til NSU game....lost
had a bye week....looked lethargic against a weak UTSA team
had a bye week....lost today
That's a function of coaching...or the lack of it.

I remember reading an ECU post that that Holtz is a master of winning the games he should lose and losing the games he should win.
That's why we beat Oklahoma and Auburn then.....

I would love to see numbers on what the win % is nationally for teams coming off of a bye week.

I can't figure this team out. Beating UTEP and WKU by 50 shows what we are capable of. But losing to NW State and ODU also proves what we are capable of. I guess the truth is somewhere in between. (27-20 over UTSA, 31-20 over USM). We are better than bad, but not quite ready to be good. I'll take a bowl game though.. beats 2012.
So, when you are not head and shoulders better than everyone I your schedule you should make an effort to avoid open dates.
