I would urge you to distinguish between criticism offered by committed and inve$ted fans, and "negativity".

When I correct my kids for poor behavior, it makes me a good parent. Not a bad one.
When I buy an album by my favorite band, I don't have to like every song.
When I disagree with a segment of my (raging Calvinist) pastor's sermon, it doesn't mean I'm heading down to the mosque.

Please recognize that the posters here are Tech fans through and through. The diehards. The core. When we criticize, it's because we expect excellence and will never, ever settle for less than the very best effort from any part of our university.

You'll see very few truly negative posters on here that don't wish the best for Tech. Those types are usually outed pretty quickly, and typically (with some notable exceptions) stop posting soon after.

fortunately I never had to correct poor behavior because my kids followed the wondrous example of their father --they were all angels and never acted up ( being silly but pretty much truth, except oldest who disgraced family, went to hated LSU , got law degree and now an equity partner in Long Law firm. Only redeeming value is 4 grandkids and wonderful wife) . You Calvinist, I am Catholic--we are reared to feel guity about everything so its my fault when Tech performs poorly -- heck, I even had granson crying once --told him if he did not cheer more we would lose game-- well we lost and he cried.... now can anyone beat that for being an a...hole? we did work it out ( i hope)-- he always cries when Tech loses anything which speaks highly of his love for Tech

. Living in Demon country had to be horrible-- especially for a famous Tech grad. I lose sleep over losing games-- replay the old what if scenarios . I have even woke up thinking about 2 point conversions to A.M and Hawaii . Then I focus on big wins

There are many times I wish my attitude was as simple as my 5 year olds perspective. When his 2 favorite players do something good, he asks if they won. Not the team, just the 2 guys he is worried about.
