Conf Cusa Why I hate statistics

statistics are like a lampost and a drunk -- more for support than illumination . I hate statistics but like a drunk, do not have willpower to abstain. Here goes, Rice leads CUSA in sacks -thats about it. We average more points per game (7 per game) give us less points (2 per game) scored more pass tds (7) less yard per game (24) #2 pass defense vs #9 . Dixon leads CUSA in TDs and we have 21 ints vs their 6. What spooks me is how stats vs OD were so much in our favor-- Vegas thinks we are 3 points better plus home field advantage of 3. Why am I posting this worthless info? -- well I let everyone go home at 3 for Thanksgiving and I am going to hang around til 4ish--

Stats are a historic tabulation. In this case, they reflect what Tech and Rice have done so far this season...but not against each other. It comes down to match-ups. Which, is why Team A can beat Team B, B can beat C, and when A and C play, surprise! C beats A.

    Or....just remember:

    there are lies
    there are damn lies
    and there are statistics

Over the years our skill players have played their best in good weather-- historically our skill players are better than our piers--- forecast is 70s and sunny --

I think this game will be more than a reflection of stats. Kids will play harder after a loss. Senior day. Lots on the line. I think we win by a modest margin due to the defense playing solid and offense making the big play or 2 that were missing last week.

i am with you 100% -- OD kids played at a "something to prove" level for seniors and fans, I expect that level from our team Saturday yours truly, sunshine pumper/captain obvious --but not 21,000 posts
