If you are healthy, that's fine. If you have a few prescription drugs, you will hit that every year.
We have a high deductible/HSA. My family of 4 benefits from it because it is low premium and the company matches 50% of my contribution. There is a cap to the matching that I haven't reached because I don't make quite enough to contribute the max on my part. Being a 4 member family and crap happens, we will meet the deductible most years. It is crappy for a single healthy person because there is no copay and the few times you do visit the doctor you will almost always carry the full load of the cost to visit.

These plans are okay for people who are in good shape financially. However, if you are an hourly wage person who barely makes car notes, it sucks according to most I have talked to.

Still better than previous employer that had high premium, medium rate deductible, and a $35 copay for medicine or doctor visit. Nothing left in my paycheck after a month of that.

No matter what we have right now, it sucks.

Most private high deductibles still run 750 for a family of four. That's just shameful. To pay 750 bucks for something you can't use.

I had to turn down a great job this week because of their HD/HSA plan. My family of 4 would spend $20K a year just on prescription drugs (if we had no prescription drug coverage), so we would meet the deductible ($8K) on this HSA plan by about May of every year just with our prescriptions. I'm sure the deductible probably goes up every year as well. The HR guy told me he expects all major companies to go to this type of coverage soon because of Obamacare. It's going to hurt me pretty bad.... it would have been - $6,500 this year if I "had" to take this job.

Changing jobs cost me between 7200 and 8500 a year in Health insurance. Next year if I choose not to change plans, I will pay 15.6k in premiums for health insurance. How is that fair??

Perfect example of why healthcare should NOT be tied to employment.

    Re: Health Insurance

Mine isnt. Left a state job for a private sector job. Healthcare shouldn't be tied to federal bureaucracy. I believe Healthcare reforms were needed but this is communist. I'm 100 percent middle class and the government takes away my incentive to work work harder and make more money by punishing me with over priced health-care. There are several people that don't work as hard as I do and thus make less. They get subsidies to pay for their health care.

What we have now is not health insurance, it is a government program that has NOTHING to do with insurance.

It's the health industry equivalent to derivatives. It is designed to crash the system, and it will.

I am going to quit complaining for sure. Our premiums have not changed more than $1.50 per year in 3 years. Also, the deductible has been the same for 3 years. I am sure we will have a major bike in all costs soon to make up for it though. I am seeing from all of you it could be much worse.

As an insurance adjuster for 35 years, I knew Obama told a lie when he said you could keep your insurance plan. Insurance companies are not going to lose money. They will raise premiums, deductibles, and copays!! Obama Care is just one more way Obama has put the burden of paying of benefits for the poor onto the backs of the Middle Class!! Obama has been leading us into Socialism since the day he entered office. I will never understand how so many idiots voted for him??!!!

You are 100% correct. People voted for him because they didn't want to be viewed as racist. People will vote for Hillary because they won't want to be viewed as anti-feminist. The majority of the voting base in this country, rarely does its homework. They are about slogans, broad promises. You can't call anyone on thier lies in Washingon because it is viewed as rude, hostile or unproffesional. Obama LIED and the middle class will pay.

FOX NEWS is the ONLY program on TV that will call politicians...and especially Obama...out on their lies. Watch Bill Oriley, Megan Kelly, and Hanity....you will have your eyes opened.

Everyone's HC insurance has gotten more expensive....unless you happen to be in Congress, a member of their staff, or work for the White House. And! there are MORE uninsured today than there was before obummercare.

So, as you can see, his plan is working perfectly.
