We have a high deductible/HSA. My family of 4 benefits from it because it is low premium and the company matches 50% of my contribution. There is a cap to the matching that I haven't reached because I don't make quite enough to contribute the max on my part. Being a 4 member family and crap happens, we will meet the deductible most years. It is crappy for a single healthy person because there is no copay and the few times you do visit the doctor you will almost always carry the full load of the cost to visit.
These plans are okay for people who are in good shape financially. However, if you are an hourly wage person who barely makes car notes, it sucks according to most I have talked to.
Still better than previous employer that had high premium, medium rate deductible, and a $35 copay for medicine or doctor visit. Nothing left in my paycheck after a month of that.
No matter what we have right now, it sucks.
