WNT draws the "Group of Death" for Canada 2015

The WNT draws Group D, the "Group of Death", for the Women's World Cup in Canada next year.

The U.S. (#1 in the latest FIFA rankings), Sweden (#5), Australia (#10), and Nigeria (#35) make up Group D.

The WNT will play Australia on Monday, June 8, and Sweden on Friday, June 12, with those first two matches in Winnipeg. The third group stage match will be against Nigeria on Tuesday, June 16, in Vancouver.

Yep! just the men's team got the Group of Death...but advanced. For the WNT, just get out of the group and then regroup for a run at the title.

The travel is not bad, unlike the MNT which covered a million miles, some of it in canoes floating down the Amazon :icon_wink:.

Sweden and Australia should be very upset by this grouping, one of them will not advance.

At least in the WWC with it now being 24 teams, 4 of the 6 3rd place group teams advance.

hope some of these teams are better than our concacaf competition
