    Yahoo Sports Ranks Bowls 1 - 38.

Yahoo Sports has ranked the bowls from 1 to 38 and the Heart of Dallas Bowl comes in at 37 on their list. I'm pretty sure Illinois had a lot to do with that ranking. We definitely deserved a better opponent.

I saw SB Nation had it at 35 and one of the highest for its "feel good" rating (6 out of 38). But admit it. Only football junkies, Illini fans and Tech fans are going to watch. It will interesting to compare attendance to the ~49000 we got for both Indy Bowls. I see they aren't even trying to sell most of the upper deck. They are probably hoping for about 30000.

Graham Watson usually gives us a lot of love. I guess she doesn't like the opponent of Illinois.

We have played in I Bowl four times, but I know you mean the 1990 and 2008 games. No way there was anything like 49,000 for the NIU game. I agree that this game will probably be 30,000-something range. Hope it tops 40,000, but probably won't.

I disagree about no interest for college football fans parked in front of their TVs the day after Christmas. It will be the only college football game on. I think it will get good viewership.

I don't get the knock on this game, especially from our fans. This is a good game... close enough our fans can easily get there; great, historic venue; Big 10 opponent; the kind of game we could not have dreamed of until recent years.

I'm 100% happy with the bowl we've been invited to. I'm in no way "knock"ing it.

If i'm the average CFB fan watching Tech beat up Illinois probably wouldn't be my idea of a great Bowl game to watch...

Illinois beat a 6-1 Minnesota team, and they had to win their final two games to get bowl eligible, which they did by beating Penn State and Northwestern.

An "average" college football fan would not know that. You are above average.

Illinois is no joke and we are 0-3 when coming off a bye or long time off. We better win this game.

I hope you're right about "beating up Illinois" Frankly, regardless of how the backups acquitted themselves at Marshall, I'm scared to death of playing anyone while missing 6 players including 5 starters.

And we aren't talking about just any starters, we are talking about All-Conference Caliber Players. But I still predict that Tech will win.

Me either. LA Tech ended up in a very nice bowl, in a historic stadium, only 4 hours from campus. We're also playing in one of the country's Top 5 media markets, against a P5 team we can actually beat!! Plus, we have some good "sideline" stories, like Houston Bates playing his old team, etc...

This game is also UNOPPOSED on TV, so LA Tech vs Illinois should have great viewership for the noon CST kickoff. Remember, there's no game on TV the previous day, so TV watchers will be ready and hungry. And because this game is at noon, many Tech fans can simply drive over in the morning, attend the game, and still drive back home in the same day.

This bowl game is about as perfect as it gets for LA Tech and it's fans.
