Doesn't take a genius to figure out who holds the coveted #1 spot. And this in the ENTIRE history of the NFL. The Lions made the Top 5, but they have been around a lot longer than most franchises, so have had more time to accumulate chokes. Others at the top of the list, somewhat surprisingly, are the Niners, Eagles, and the Redskins, not such a surprise there. But the clear, unchallenged, not-even-close NUMBER ONE choker of all time:

.1. New Orleans Saints: Seven games choked
There’s always something about the Saints that makes them feel a bit like a hard luck franchise — even before Katrina and the awful events following it — so it seems somewhat fitting that the team is far and away the biggest perpetrator of the choke, dropping seven eminently winnable games. It’s worth noting, though, that five of those occurred in the 1980s, which is practically ancient history in the chronology of professional sports.

I wasn't so much interested in these 7 examples, because, if you're a Saints' fan, you KNOW there have been scores of others. Just this year...the loss to Detroit, CHOKE! Cleveland? CHOKE! Atlanta? CHOKE!
Of course, in recent years, Tampa Bay has had its share of chokes too. Probably rivaling the Saints for that #1 choke title the past several seasons.
The numbers all start in 1970, so the Saints were around by the start of the comparison. I know they wanted an objective criteria, but it does leave out a lot of events. And really, in today's NFL losing a 14 point lead in the 4th quarter isn't really that big of a deal.
