Yes...-1 margin against Presbyterian and Samford is as good as it has been.
Through games of December 19, Tech's rebound margin of -8.5 ranks #338 of the 345 full Division I teams.
Tech is getting less than 60% of the rebounds on its defensive end for the season, and good rebounding teams should be somewhere around the 70% mark or higher.
We aren't you physical. Missing Chris Anderson. Big time. McCree is just a different type of player. Missing JJ and CJ too. Both physical guards. Qiydar is athletic but not physical.
White mentioned to Dave before the game that he may need to send one of his guards to the bench to get more size. Hard to see Hamilton or Appleby coming off the bench? I think it would give us good size though if Xavian is in at the 3.
How did we look when Kyser was paired with another big? Dave said Edwards and White played with Kyser. First home game I have missed this year. I know it may affect our sets on offense some but I think we need to play this some to help get stops on D.
Rebounding = Stops on D. We just can't seem to get that big board even when we do play good D to get the ball back.
Also noticed other teams are lighting us up from 3 this year so far. We really closed out well and CJ/JJ/Kenyon shut down the other teams shooters the last two years.
Kyser and Edwards both seemed to have issues guarding the perimeter. Did not notice whether we switched on screens when both were in. Wonder if we could go zone with 2 bigs in.
Offense didn't look particularly good.
To me, our problem is we don't have rebounding ability at positions 1-4 and it is killing us. When Kyser goes for the block he is out of rebounding position. Last year, Anderson made a living picking up the slack. JJ and CJ would fill in the gaps. This year we have 3 small guards then Xavian or McCree at the 4. Those two are really a 3. We are missing a 4.
