I just don't get why diversity is so important. All races have a homeland to go to except white people because it's the countries of the white people that are being made diverse, not Asian, not African, not Hispanic, and not Arabic. White people have no homeland to go to if they ever get tired of diversity like all other races. Let's just put a tap on diversity and let it be for God's sake.

Big 10 schools have very demanding entrance requirements compared to many other public universities. I'm not saying there is a correlation.

UI is 60 miles south of Chicago, one of the most diverse cities in the world. I was stunned at the lack of diversity in their support teams.

Diversity is only important in the south. We still have a long way to go according to people in Illinois.

Yeah, hopefully no prospective students with a functional brain read some of the posts on this thread and get discouraged from attending Tech. Maybe this is why we have issues growing our student body and fanbase?

We have a very diverse and well deserved student population. Nothing to worry about per TECH.

I agree and I hope we can keep it that way and continue to grow. I'm just kind of shocked by some of the comments that diversity isn't important to our school. I think it's important in any educational environment to experience different cultures and points of view. That's what America should be all about in my opinion.

The thread was started by one of our posters who most of us know has a sense of humor and does not walk on egg shells regarding stupid PC thoughts.
