Louisiana Tech defeated Illinois, 35-18, to claim the Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl trophy in its seventh bowl game in the school's Division I history. LA Tech has now moved its all-time bowl record to an even .500 and is now 3-3-1 in bowl games.
