Who remember SOUTH HALL, the "swing" domitory? It was at the top of the hill on Tech Drive and was used for a women's dorm my freshman year (1965-66). Then, of course, there was the old quonset building called the barracks which was right by the old water tower which was used a a men's dorm. I understand that Robinson is still standing. Thatcher was torn down to build Madison. And Hale was rebuilt as new. If Robinson is still standing it would be the oldest dorm building on campus although its use has changed.

South Hall was renovated during the 88-89 school year and now houses Tech Police. Robinson was gutted and renovated in the mid 80s and turned into an academic building.

Who would think campus security would need that big of a building (South Hall). Do they have a jail in there? Maybe they sleep there, too.

That makes more sense. The old "infirmary" was small.

Yes. There is a "holding" cell.

i know you weren't asking me, but it is true. The intramural center expansion includes space for a new one but it is unfinished. Walking in from the parking lot, with the exterior pool on your left, it is the glass enclosed space on the right.

They'd give you Pepto for just about anything. You could go in there missing an arm, and the nurse would give you Pepto.

If you needed penicillin, you had to go to Green Clinic.

Yes I do, my question was directed to some who may have used the facilities "back in the day".

They'e putting the new"infirmary" way out on the north side of the campus away from everybody -- well it is close to the new apartments, and looking at the map there are a lot of the apartments near by But what if you were in Pierce or over there and got sick? At least the old infirmary was in the middle of the campus for then. Speaking of the middle where would it be now? If you include The TAS, JAS , baseball and softball it would probably be about Hale Hall.

Along the same vein, if you lived in the apartments north of the railroad tracks and you got sick, you'd have to go all the way across campus to get to the Health Center at the southwest corner of campus.

The middle of the main campus (the area south of the railroad tracks) would probably be where the Student Center is right now. If you include the athletic facility, the geographic center moves to around Hale Hall/Memorial Gym.

At least the Health Center would be at the Intramural Center where a lot of students go to exercise and where some of the new apartment complexes are located.
