The great thing about having Skip is that he knows everybody. Someone suggested UAB's former HC, Bill Clark. I would like that. Skip's former DC, Mark Synder, was just fired at A&M. I wouldn't be wild about that. I'm sure we'll get a good one... probably not another Manny Diaz though.

Good for the goose... We should know his calls pretty well plus I would speculate he will have less time and probably less free reign to install it...

Looks like Diaz will already know two Miss State recruits that we offered.

I totally agree. These one and dones no matter the one year result do us more long term harm than good. We are a program in dire need of some coaching stability but instead we are constantly used as a stepping stone for bigger pay days. Get ready for the "thank you La.Tech I appreciate it".

Beats the alternative and unless north LA's population explodes exponentially over night it will always be that way

Boise dealt with it as did A-State...

I would rather be a stepping stone than a retirement home any day.

I don't think anyone falls for the "we love it here anymore".

We also know his scheme and what he wants to do very well.

they have 26 committments already so may not have room for either-- most of their guys are 3 statrs and a few 4 stars

sorry--misunderstood your post-- thought these 2 were still prospects, as you know and I did not--they both committed to MS

Skip Holtz is now back on the clock...
if next coach lets these guys play the way Manny did we got our moneys worth, win-win like you said. Part of his style was to let the players play to their strength rather than a "scheme" -- read several comments from players about his style ... I gotta believe the skill set he installed will carry over as long as we have players he coached playimg for us

Well darn! I can't wish him ill though, he did his job for the year we had him. You can't blame a guy for wanting to move ahead, and he has more opportunity to do that in the SEC than at TECH.

Holtz has done a fantastic job in finding assistant coaches so I believe he'll find a good replacement. I just hope we don't lose any recruits due to this

On a different note..... We have two blurbs about our program on the ESPN College Football homepage during the championship game week. One about landing a P5 QB and one about losing our rock star DC. When was the last time that happened? What's that they say about no bad press?
