The Debate between Tech & LSU

I need some feedback from my friends at BBB. I've had a debate with some friends this morning about Tech and LSPoo. My argument is that there are a good amount of Tech players that could definitely get on the field and make a contribution at LSPoo. Is this a valid argument that I am making? Please provide examples of players as well.

Make no mistake - at least 75% of guys good enough to play at the college level are absolutely able to to contribute anywhere else to some degree. From anywhere, to anywhere.

LSpoo would have beaten up another Marine to get a QB like Sokol or a RB like Dixon.

There is no debate, and hopefully know you now better than to argue with a faux tigger.

I don't know the LSU roster that well myself. I'd say Dixon and Woods could play almost anywhere in the country. Henderson has world class speed. Maybe Adarius Barnes, Vernon Butler, and Trent Taylor. If you are talking this past year's team Sokol when healthy was better than the LSU QBs and Mitchell Bell may have been able to compete on their OL.

Don't waste your time on them. Enjoy the great experiences available at Tech and don't worry about the Wal-Mart LSU fans.

If Henderson has world class speed, how did a Illini DB run him down?

lsu has some great players that our team can't touch. However, there are many on their roster that would never play a down at Tech. Sokol would have been an all-SEC QB this season.

If you watched the play, you know the answer.

    CHC is correct!!

first, he's blown past defenders ALL YEAR

    second, wet field

third, he appeared to cramp up RIGHT after the play

fourth, it also looked like he was bracing for an impact and was making sure to hold on to the ball

    fifth... whats your point?

spent weekend with one of my sons and his LSU buddies--all were nice and dislike ULL. EASY answer-- for LSU folks its about guys in pros ( and dislike of coach) Learn names of our guys in pros and remind them we have more guys in NFL hall of fame than they do ( technically its the same ) . Bring up our history of qbs and remind them Dixon broke Faulks record. Move conversion from Tech vs LSU to good enough for NFL

I would argue based on common opponent Auburn and SEC bowl outcomes, they were not that much better than us this year. Yeah, they may have better talent, but we get the most out of what we have. To answer, we have many that they would love to have.

Re: The Debate between Tech & LSU

Cody Sokol would have been LSU's starting QB. Kenneth Dixon is good enough to get reps in their backfield rotation, though he likely wouldn't be the workhorse he is with us with the number of talented guys in Baton Rouge. I'm not smart enough to know about the OL, but it's hard to see any of our WRs getting on the field. Trent Taylor, maybe, as a slot guy after Trey Quinn started dropping passes and got benched. Make no mistake, there are at least three NFL-caliber WRs for LSU. Unlike other programs (including us), LSU doesn't rotate a lot of receivers, and the ones who do play can't get many balls because the QB play is so horrid.

Houston Bates would have competed with Danielle Hunter and Jermauria Rasco for one of the starting DE spots and most assuredly would have been in the rotation. LSU's DTs weren't that great this season, so I'm sure Vernon Butler could have played, and possibly even started. I doubt any of our LBs would have played, but our secondary members could have competed. LSU has three pros in its secondary, but Xavier Woods could have started at safety, and Liggins, Barnes and Abraham could have added much-needed depth at CB.

Re: The Debate between Tech & LSU

The Starting 22 for both teams is comparable with LSU holding an edge talent-wise. Historically our QB play has been better.

It's the depth that stand out between the two schools. The next 22 at LSU could probably start at most places.

Some of the LSPoo fans I work with stated that they would dearly love to have Tech's QB.
