Most libertarians I know are very consistent, but Im aware thats not the case for broader libertarianism. Which is why the ideals have not taken hold (or rather have lost hold - we held them for about 100 years from 1770) in our modern cultural climate.
Trump is a POS, definitely not conservative or presidential material. I could never vote for him. I could get behind Cruz, but if it's Trump I'll be sitting this one out.

The size of government needs to be shrunk. Make every non-miltary agency reduce its budget by 3% a year for 4 years with a hiring freeze and you would have surplus that could start paying down the debt. If you close some departments, you could really start paying it down.
I don't see anyone that will it this election except Cruz and possibly Trump with the penny plan.
Rose colored glasses my friend. We're going to keep spending and spending and spending until we can't borrow anymore. There's to many problems to fix and not enough political will to do it.
Social Security is a Ponzi scheme and not fixable. IMHO the main problem we have is no term limits on Senators/Reps. These leeches (most of them) have no intention of fixing a damn thing other than their own bank account. 30 years in DC and you can get your hands in a lot of pockets. It needs to be a two terms of service limit, no matter if it's 2 as a Senator, 2 as a congressman or a combo.
There's no way a Senator/Rep is going to vote to take away one cent of entitlements because it would effect their pocketbooks. If they were booted after two terms, they wouldn't have to worry about reelection and maybe they'd actually do what's right. Doubtful but more of a chance than the career ones we have now.
Term limits WILL MAKE THINGS WORSE.
