Okee dokee
Why? I love easy wins!
Build a bigger runway and a nice hotel and let's start scheduling some P5 home and homes like our conference mates are.
ULL won't bring near as many as Southern to JAS. That is fact and proven. For scheduling an FCS team, Southern was a good choice. ULL (and the rest of the belt) don't travel well, unless it is to New Orleans for their pre-game to the bowl season.
We had 40,00 at Shreveport. I don't know what that has to do with anything. There was 41,000 in Shreveport vs Northern Illinois.
The last P5 school at home was Miss St (2008) and we only had 25,000. That's about the same as 2011 Hawaii game & 2012 Utah St game and a little bit less than the Northwestern St game (which was the highest attended game since NLU visited in 1999).
There were three CUSA teams that hosted P5 schools this season. All three are located in larger markets.
My point is attendance. I would rather see us average 25,000+ yearly. If playing a Louisiana school every year gets us to that threshold then do it. It would solve a lot of problems if the turnstiles are spinning to the tune of 3 million$$ per year.
In regards to P5 schools visiting, I would take a shot at scheduling Illinois at home as soon as they could. We've played them twice now and I'm sure they would love another chance at beating us. Also Texas Tech or the other two Tech schools, people love seeing those match-ups for some reason.
Absolutely not! Energizes fan base and we tend to dominate-- without us kicking their butts they can crow about being better than us-- lot of folks felt they had passed us -- put that to rest. Energy of fan base off charts before we play them.easy 3 hr drive every other year. No to northeast, yes to southwestern
Or .... Quit posting about them
