Aren't wake up calls supposed to be early, thus "wake up" calls? We are 2/3 done with this season. If it took our guys 19 games before they woke up, then we have a serious problem. The "wake up call" analogy is just as silly here as it was for NWST in football.
Well, I would rather it happen now - if it HAD to happen, than in the tournament. We HAVE to win the tournament this year.
With 9 newcomers who havent played D1 basketball I absolutely believe that you can have a wake up call 19 games into the season. Heck Duke had one two weeks ago when Miami went into Cameron Indoor and beat them by 18. Like Champion110 said better now than in the Conference Tournament.
A loss? Yes, of course. But a wake up call? That's implying our guys slept through the first 19 games. That's just silly.
A wake up call refers to showing the players that they cant just put the uniform on and beat anyone. With the hot start in CUSA play they became complacent and believed they would beat North Texas just by getting off the bus. That proved not to be the case therefore providing a wake up call to show them they better bring their A game every night in this league regardless of opponent.
True, but that North Texas team is bad real bad. We stunk it up in the first half and couldn't finish them off when we had some momentum.. I really thought we were going to win when we went on that run just because North Texas had only 2 real ball handlers. Once it got out of their hands the other players were just turnover machines
I think 15-3 will be enough for an outright C-USA regular season title. A 14-4 record would be enough for a share of the regular season title.
I think it's a race to 15 conference victories for the top six teams in C-USA.
The problem is, WKU has a chance to beat us and ODU is certainly good enough. 2 more losses against the wrong teams and 15-3 might not be good enough.
I have a quick question...does anyone know what time the CUSA Championship game will be played this year in comparison to last year?
