Word on the street here is that they feel they will be given 1 year to bring football back, June 30, 2016 and if they don't they are gone.
Supposedly have already made overtures for the Missouri Valley Conference for their sports

Interesting. I'd give them about a 1% chance that the MVC would take them. The MVC has 10 teams, which is the perfect number for a basketball league, and UAB would be somewhat of a geographical outlier. Regardless, I'm still optimistic that UAB will get their football program back.
Be a shame to lose them, but without football they've got to go. And even if they bring football back, it sure seems like there should be some punative measures taken. Obviously, they wouldn't share in football revenue until they were back completely in FBS, but maybe they forfeit another year or two after that?
They are having a season ticket deposit drive...
They have less than 3,000 deposits for tickets so far-
The deposit is only $25
I don't think their "fans" want it that much...
It's time to give them a hard deadline and move on if they can't have football in place in 12 months. It is not fair to the other 13 members

Ron Thulin interviewed Banowsky today. BB basically said that C-USA will give UAB time to get their decision right. He said C-USA is in no rush because of the stability in the conference landscape right now. Yeah, 12 months should be plenty of time for UAB to figure out their football situation.
Agreed...if they don't have a commitment in place by this May to sponsor football in 2016, then UAB must be gone as of July 1, 2016. And the only way they should be allowed to stay for 2015-2016 is with limited revenue sharing.
If they can't get out from under the BOT then it's all for nothing. If they did get the program going again but can't get out then it's just a matter of time before it happens again.

By-laws say you've got to have football. They dropped football, out of the kindness of their hearts the presidents didn't ask them to leave the next day. In an act of grace, they've given them several months to rethink their boneheaded move to drop football to begin with. At this point, just give them a hard deadline and outline the CUSA consequences either way. 1. No football, you're looking for a new conference for '15-'16 (or '16-17, but no hosting conference championship events and no football money next season). Decide to add football back and you get no football money until you're FBS again (and all the way through the transition period). And don't pull this junk again.
Question, did UAB support us the first time around getting into CUSA?
They do whatever USM tells them to do.
Honest question, why would they do what Southern Miss told them to do? I would think they would do what the Alabama BOR tells them to do.
Reason why I asked, if they weren't for our membership the first go around...I say screw them.
UAB and Southern Miss have been athletically joined at the hip for decades. I was just being snarky and I don't know how they voted.
Middle finger state fans are very sneaky on CUSA board. They would throw Tech under the bus any chance they have.
