FBS Student Enrollment

According to Wikipedia, Tech has 9th smallest enrollment among FCS schools. Four with smaller enrollments are private: Wake Forest, TCU, Tulsa, and Rice. Three with smaller enrollments are military academies: USMA, USNA, AFA. Only regular public school with smaller enrollment? ULM.

Not sure whether we should be applauded for doing more with less, or whether we need to work to increase enrollment. Could be this means nothing at all. What do you think?

We need a bigger enrollment. If there's anywhere that LA Tech has experienced failure over the last 3 decades, it's in the area of growth and enrollment. Instead of staying at 10K to 11K for decades, we need to get the enrolllment numbers up to 17K. It will make a huge difference

We need to be at 20k asap. Larger enrollment means more goodwill ambassadors being sent out into the world every quarter. Just imagine how much Football attendance would encrease on average with double our enrollement.

It is also a product of our campus-wide commitment to our strategic plan (Tech 2020) and to grow our enrollment to 15,000 by 2020.

It is the considered judgment of the Louisiana Tech University Family that an enrollment of 15,000 students would maximize the achievement of these goals.

Probably a mix up of the plan being 2020, either way I would be happy with 20k by 2020, but we need more of the master plan implemented before then to accommodate the increased enrollment.

We've been at about 11,500 for the past 5 years, so going to 20k in 5 years would be pretty difficult, I definitely see getting to 15k as doable though.

Thanks. I think it's probably more so embellishment than confusion. It's the same public enrollment goal of 15K since DR was in office. Just that LG is doing something to get there.

The thing I don't get is why area students (with good grads) go to ULM, NSU, or even LSUS.

I remember when I was in high school, LaTech and Arkansas were at the top of my list. ULM, Northwesten St, SAU, UCA, and Ark Tech were not quality schools from my research.
