If there is any future openings in the SID office, we need to hire this guy.
This is the best recruiting article I've ever read. Thank you, Sean!!!
Us guys in far away places like Houston really appreciate getting to read news articles about Tech!
Us guys in far away places like Haughton really appreciate getting to read news articles about Tech too. Unfortunately we're LANGuishing here, stuck with the Shreveport Times and it just sucks to miss out on so many items. Awful.
Isabella is a FANTASTIC WRITER and we are blessed to have him cover our university: just wish we got more. I'd like to meet him sometime. Not a single word of this awesome story in our paper here. Wasted a dollar picking it up today. If the Times were on the "Gong Show" I'd be the first to cLANG the gong.
Thanks to Dawgpix and Dawg06 for the links they frequently post. Good job!
Just for the record: Roy Lang isn't sports editor at The Times anymore. He has a new role, which in the paper and online will look similar to the types of stories he's done in the past but doesn't include the same administrative duties. If you have any coverage suggestions, you might want to contact Scott Ferrell.
the bold, the beautiful, theprofessor
"Hello, I'd like to make a special request for you to cover the largest university for 300 miles."
must be two editions of Times. I read great stories on Tech almost every day. Most of stories are by Isabella, who is the Gannett North Louisiana Tech writer, much like Guilbeau is for LSU. Jimmy Watson and other Times writers also write about Tech from time to time.
I follow Isabella on twitter and he is non stop. Great guy to follow if you like Tech
Nope. The majority of Isabella's Tech articles in The Times are chopped off mid-article, and only roughly half of his articles are published at all in the dead tree Times. Other than a few rare occasions, the only time Jimmy and Roy have really written articles about Tech in the last year and a half or so was when Isabella was out about a month with back surgery.
That's even worse. Roy Lang is more "friendly" to Tech than Scott Ferrell. I went all the way up to Alan English several months ago, and he basically said that Tech wasn't important to The Times. That attitude permeates the office on Lake Street, and it's not just sports. It's education, too.
