That's even worse. Roy Lang is more "friendly" to Tech than Scott Ferrell. I went all the way up to Alan English several months ago, and he basically said that Tech wasn't important to The Times. That attitude permeates the office on Lake Street, and it's not just sports. It's education, too.

Ferrell is an LSU grad that told me back in 1997 that Tech wasn't good enough to play LSU in the Independence Bowl and that Tech should look for a lessor bowl to play in. Now, all those lessor Bowls have moved ahead of the I-Bowl and Tech has played in 2 of them in the last 4 years.

When I think about it, Ive never had any beef with anyone I know who actually graduated from there. Sure, if they're a sports person, they're gonna root for them but it doesnt bother me at all. It's the feaux tiggers that piss me off.
