The officials are testing out a new rule book tonight. This one doesn't penalize traveling, lane violations or karate kicks.
Mtsu testing out a butt whipping...poor homestand
I'll start with the obvious (from me): the pink was atrocious.
Our shooting was bad, the officials were bad, MTSU were thugs, and the coach left his starters in while up 30. I miss anything?
BlindDog--this is important. I would never knowingly cite your name for a sighted-only joke. Political correctness I don't give a rip about. Respect is reason enough.
Since I was goofing as if I was afraid CBS would come after me for copyright infringement, I cited your name to hide behind, transparently pretending it was you who had made the statement. Why your name? Because you are probably the last person here who would back away from a statement.
If I may, there's also another reason that could have contributed to a misunderstanding: Does your computer read light-colored text as well as black-colored text? Does it indicate to you when there's a change in the color of the text? 'Cause I am guilty of occasionally using light gray text to make subliminal statements.
I remember in Murfreesboro the home fans, coach and team all felt we were getting away with extra-physical play. Lots of boos, lots of complaining from the bench. My impression then was that the referees were giving us benefit of the doubt because (in the first half) we were more... not aggressive, but resolute, dynamic, purposeful.
Don't know if tonight's refs worked that first game, but it's hard to believe there wasn't a back story to the game-within-the-game y'all described in Ruston this evening.
It was ugly ugly! The refs hit a season low! I'm sure our girls have a nice collection of purple. Hope our next game is against little sisters of the poor if the offending players are suspended for two!
It always seemed one-sided but to be fair I did see a few things we got away with though. MTSU was just much more physical. Reminded me of the Utah St. football game in 2012 when we (students sitting behind the Utah St bench) heard the CB coach say "hold every chance you can. Refs won't call it."
A new article has been posted on www.latechsports.com:
Louisiana Tech head coach Tyler Summitt knew Saturday night's match-up against defending Conference USA champion and league leader Middle Tennessee would be tough.

Two...starting...seniors.
Hard to believe. Until I remind myself of some decisions I made at that age. Hopefully this will mark a "never again" life-lesson moment for these two girls, and for the rest of the team.
I'm sure they'll want to make up for how they hurt the team, but I'm not sure guilt is a reliable remedy for poor shooting.
Oh, and I can't graph the game last night since we only played with 8 players. We have been in a slide in shooting for the last two games, but our defense last night performed well - except for that big girl in the middle for MTSU.
Hopefully, our two players will come back with a strong desire to show what they got next week.
