Definitely one of the great ambassadors for the game of basketball. His health has been bad for a while, but even when you know it's coming, it's still tough to lose people like this.

I read Dean Smiths Autobiography and while I agreed very little with him I respected him as one of the best there was. Tark the Shark was one of us little guys. What he did with UNLV is the envy of every "Mid-Major program in college basketball" and they went after him for it too.
