Didn't miss a thing. It's the only number that matters, really. They are still making money and loads of it. It is natural for them to of lost market share, especially with so many "real" universities offering more and more "legitimate" online courses and degrees. That's bad for them, but good for everyone else.
Still, student loans suck.
Student loans do suck--can't argue with that.
But, 2.7 billion is not the only number that matters. It is relative to the other numbers in the article. I'm sure their 2.7 billions spends quite nicely, but it's not as good as twice as much. Let's say you have a wife and you give her $500 each year on your wedding anniversary. Next year, give her $100 and tell her "it's still a lot of money." Let me know how that works out for you.
