Donnie Tyndall has been fired as HC at Tennessee. Hopefully they dont come calling for Mike again.

You never know, but they certainly didn't seem to end negotiations on a very friendly note last time.
Good old Memorial Gym
I seem to remember that White kind of showed them the error of their ways and they got it right with Tyndall. If they had offered White the same deal as Tyndall, he would have taken it. I bet they come back with the same offer as Tyndall now.
I don't think Coach White would go to Tennessee now for the same thing they gave Tindall.

I hope they go in a different direction because Mike turned them down once.
I don't see Alabama or Tennessee as viable landing spots. But if there are vacancies at Wichita State or Northern Iowa, I could see those programs coming after him.
Have you considered those Dogs?
Why not? Wichita State is a premier basketball program. Everything about the program screams major. Wichita is one of the 50 largest cities in the country, but it's not too large where you can't comfortably raise a family with five children. Gregg Marshall proved you can win at the highest level there. And $2 to $2.5 million is nothing to sneeze at.
the bold, the beautiful, theprofessor
Shockers yes.
Northern Iowa not so much...
Not worried about Tennessee in the least -
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
Because with all the assets you listed, it is still a stepping stone program. It is a stepping stone program with much higher expectations than those at LaTech.
If it were all about money with MW, I believe he would already be gone.
ACC is elite. That's where any coach would like to end up.
Truth will ultimately prevail where there is pains to bring it to light.
George Washington
Was it the success of Southern Miss under Tyndall that brought his transgressions to light? ABSOLUTELY
Would this have happened to Tyndall had he had recruiting violations at Tennessee only? ??
It should be noted that Tennessee fired Bruce Pearl in 2011 after the following:
Tennessee got it right in the Bruce Pearl case after they discovered he violated school policy. They got it right much quicker this time. Hooray for Tennessee!
- recruiting violations,
- lying to the NCAA during the investigation,
- suspended for 8 SEC games,
- salary reduction,
- then later, more NCAA violations were discovered,
- and Pearl failed to report substance abuse violations by a player, and this was a violation of school policy.
By staying, Mike White could reach 300 wins in record time. Among active coaches, Roy Williams holds the record now with 300 wins in his first 370 games. 7 or 8 more seasons at Tech and Coach White could beat that record. He would still be young enough to move to a larger program after getting that record.
If he leaves, he would more than likely go to a program that needs rebuilding.
FYI - the record holder among all coaches is a 1930's and 40's coach who won his 300th game in 343 games played.
