So, will USM be forced to forfeit any games from their 2013-2014 season because of these violations?
In the 2013-2014 season, Tech lost a key game AT Southern Miss that caused us to ultimatley finish in a 3-way tie for 1st place in the CUSA regular season. Without that loss, we finish first outright (unless Tulsa was affected similarly.) Just wondering what impact these violations have on the 2013-20145 season.
Rick Barnes very close to reaching agreement with Tennessee. This job was the only one that I viewed as a threat up to this point.
The biggest threat is not officially open YET -

That may be true, but I'm going off of the current openings. I dont think a threat will open up from what I hear.
Not sure yet, but it doesn't sound good for Southern Miss.
Tyndall and two of his old assistants are out of their jobs at Tennessee or Southern Mississippi in the last year. Southern Miss took themselves out of postseason competition earlier this year. If it's bad enough that Tennessee fired Tyndall and Southern Miss punished themselves early, my guess is the NCAA punishment won't be good for Southern Miss.
I feel like they will go for a higher profile type guy.
I'm dubious about Southern Miss punishing themselves. They punished themselves after the season was well underway, and it was obvious that they had little to no chance of making the NCAA Tournament this year anyway. It's roughly equivalent to me banning myself from the Academy Award Ceremonies this year. I wasn't going anyway.
Not based on their previous hires...
Mark Turgeon - Jacksonville St
Gregg Marshall - Winthrop
They go and get good up and coming basketball coaches and don't get wooed by sexy names and BIG TIME program assistants
IF this job comes open - they will present more of a threat than Bama or Tennessee combined
I think Mike White wants a "blue-blood" job eventually and he can get to there from Wichita State
