I have heard claims the SEZ project is funded through bonds and/or student fees. I thought the funding came 100% through private donations. What is the truth?

Of the $17.6 million cost ($16.6 million actual plus a $1 million contingency), about $12 million in private donations and pledges has been raised. This is what I was told about 6 months ago. The students passed a fee several years ago for this and several other small projects on campus that will will cover the rest of the cost.

At the same time, I have also heard that our AD continues to raise money for the project. It appears that the intention is to pay for the project in private dollars and then perhaps use the student fee and then maybe additional private dollars for other projects. We should know more when the master plan is released.
