Nice post, I'm guessing this will be the setup for conversations with State Legislators and Community Leaders.

This is the type of stuff that it takes to build towards a long term goal. I like it!
LG gets it.

Goods, solid, positive press that shows we are a key cog in the wheel that is going to make North LA a better place.
Interesting new project "Blue Fire" for Tech Students:

My goodness man, what's wrong with you? Perhaps you didn't read the very first 2 statements of Dr. Guice's blog:
"A good university will use its intellectual and programmatic strengths for the betterment of the institution. A great university uses these assets for the betterment of society."
Why would we hate any institution for positively contributing to our region? The entire PREMISE of your post is absurd. It isn't about who GETS what. It's about how who leads and GIVES BACK.
That's SUPPOSED to be the mission of every university, right? That whole "suckin' on the state teat" mentality is what has gotten all of us into this ridiculous higher education mess we're in.
...well, when you consider that the Technology and innovation corridor we're discussing here is along I-20, and a random poster from a school 200 miles away comes flying up in here to "set us straight" about what's going on in our own backyard...
reminds me of something Papadawg reminds me of from time to time, "Tis better to sit quietly and be THOUGHT of as foolish, than to open one's mouth (or keyboard) and remove all doubt."
His sick, sad obsession with Tech is to be pitied. His posts used to annoy me, but now I just feel sorry for him.
geaux's need for continuous attention from Tech fans speaks to the ennui of his sad, lonely life.
