Incoming Freshman

I had the opportunity to speak with both LaDante Davenport and Courtney Wallace today at regional track meet. Wallace won the shot put. Both of these young men are talented athletes but are also great people. They are really excited to be Bulldogs and are ready to compete for much playing time. They both mentioned to me separately that they heard the news of the DL transfer from LSU. You would think that they would be disappointed in another player coming in to compete for the same position but rather they were both excited to see a quality player come in and make the team better. I am really impressed with these two guys and feel they will be great players for our program!

Sounds like these guys already have a good team concept. The more success the team has will be better for the individual players. Skip is finding the right guys to come and play at Tech.

These players also probably possess a healthy understanding of the situation. If they get beat out by the transfer, they still have the chance to be a 3 year player/starter. And they may even red shirt.

This is a little off topic, but does anyone know if Holtz recruited a competent kicker in this class (at least on paper)????

According to this article, special teams is the only area we recieved an F in. Every other area is descent to great. As the article says, this could have been due to the rotation scheme.

Thanks for sharing the link! It will be interesting to find out if any of the Freshman class can break into the starting line ups, or will be a back up to a starter come this Fall?
