Cajun Credit in S&P Trouble

With the threat of deep budget cuts looming, Standard & Poor’s has placed five Louisiana higher education institutions on negative CreditWatch.

S&P’s rare move to take action as the state budget is still being mulled relates to student fee, auxiliary and lease revenue bonds for Nicholls State University, the University of Louisiana Lafayette, the University of New Orleans Research Foundation, Louisiana State University’s Bogalusa Community Medical Center Project and the Delgado Community College Foundation.

ULL's financial problems have nothing to do with my Christianity. I actually thought the SNL reference was a classy, clean and nice way to reply to ULL/USL's terrible news well as the Louisiana tax payer's latest problem in Lafayette.
Obviously we could all have posted much worse and after your reply I imagine it will happen.

Its my understanding those 5 were specifically mentioned because they are PRESENTLY involved in plans and in the midst of paperwork to to bond the projects approved and ready to go. It did not bother us because our SEZ was signed, sealed, and almost ready with no more in the oven at this time.

As a guy who looks at the SP almost daily, I am more concerned about the Ridiculous cuts education is taking in this state. The fact that ULL may have issues with cuts in no way makes me anything but concerned about the Problem all of us could have. I posted few days ago that nothing good happens when ULL-NLU-ULM get cuts .. we can ignore them completely except on issues that can hurt us also....
