I have my doubts that SBC will be a home court ever. For anybody. I would rather play in Ruston, all sports, all the time...But I'm not naïve, I get it.

We'd have a DEFINITE home court with our students in attendance. The TAC would be rocking.

I would think from a jealousy standpoint you'd want to put in at least a half-day at work so you can use those leave days when we finally make it to the Big Dance the next week.

I can not help but wonder why Tech would let the story come out of Monroe vs Shreveport
if they plan to work with Port/Bossier on the Tournament?

Because anything Tech-related comes out of Sean Isabella of The News-Star. He's the Gannett sportswriter for Tech. Period.

Sean has posted another article about Tech's chances of hosting the tourney have decreased now that UAB won't be kicked out of the conference?

    http://www.thenewsstar.com/story/on-...rney/28306991/

After these past few months with the UAB uncertainty and after how this past conference tournament was run in Birmingham, why would any other school vote for UAB to host it again anytime soon?

Hotels, casino's, numerous restaurants, more than one arena for basketball & a sports commission & tourism commission that know how to host tourist gives SBC an edge. It will be the job of the Tourist & Sports Commissions to help entice the corporate sponsors to help build $$$$ our leverage for the bid. Proximity to other participants & their fan/alumni bases, airport, hotels, corp sponsorship, sponsored events (camps, clinics, meals...etc.) & other freebies thrown in (free parking or media coverage) will be the deciding factors. These are the kinds of things that Ruston cannot provide.

apparently as far a CUSA is concerned SBC only has one usable arena.

If Tech can't get it I hope there's a move to a neutral site, though that's probably not going to happen for 2016.

Maybe we'll get a sympathy vote to get it because we weren't the only team jerked around this year...just the biggest victim. The members need to send a message to Banowsky that UAB's gotten enough latitude and loyal members who perform on the court & on the field need to be rewarded.

Neutral site for 2017 ought to happen!

I want a site that I can drive to (ie dallas, tx). I don't care if it's inconvenient for the eastern C-USA teams to get to. I'm selfish.
